Esaunggul.ac.id, Universitas Esa Unggul officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Regional Government of Natuna, Riau Islands Province which was held at Building A, Universitas Esa Unggul. This event was also enlivened by organizing a public lecture with a strategic theme on policies to improve Human Resources (HR) in border areas (21/02/2024).

This MOU aims to strengthen cooperation between Esa Unggul University and Natuna Regional Government in various fields, especially in the development of education, research, and community service. Thus, it is hoped that a positive synergy can be realized between educational institutions and the government in advancing the Natuna region.

Present at the MOU signing ceremony were the Rector of Universitas Esa Unggul, Dr. Ir. Arief Kusuma A.P. ST, MBA, IPU, ASEAN Eng, and the Regent of Natuna, Wan Siswandi, S.Sos, M.Si. Both parties expressed their commitment to actively cooperate to improve the quality of education, development and human resources in Natuna.

In his opportunity, the Rector of Universitas Esa Unggul said that we are optimistic about contributing to the Natuna Regency, with the MOU we are ready to expand accessibility with the Natuna Regional Government.
“With the programs that have been prepared by us, Esa Unggul is committed to reducing the stunting rate which is in line with one of the visions of the Natuna regency, and is ready with a pharmaceutical program using ingredients from the natural wealth of Natuna” he said.

The Regent of Natuna, Wan Siswandi, S.Sos., M.Si in his speech was very grateful for the invitation and opportunity to attend Esa Unggul. He also added, this collaboration not only marks a remarkable achievement, but also strengthens our joint commitment to improve the quality of education, research, and community services in the Natuna region. Within the framework of this MOU, we hope to create a strong synergy between higher education institutions and local governments to overcome various challenges and take advantage of existing opportunities.

The activity continued with a public lecture with the theme “Policies for Improving Human Resources in the Borderlands” which became a very valuable discussion forum. This public lecture brought in speakers who are experts in their fields, including Radhial Huda (Deputy Regent of Natuna), Dr. Harits Hijrah Wicaksana, S.Sos., M.Si (Esa Unggul Lecturer) and Dr. Ir.San Diamar, MSc (Founder / CEO of Kota Baru “Global Hub” Bandar Kayangan Lombok NTB and Director of INPOLI Indonesia). The talks discussed various strategies and innovations that can be applied to improve the quality of education, skills and knowledge of people in border areas, and how collaboration between universities and local governments can be the key to success in these efforts.

With the signing of this MOU and the seriousness of both parties in advancing human resources at the border, it is hoped that concrete steps will be taken that can change the paradigm and improve the quality of life of the people in the region. Hopefully, this collaboration will become a solid foundation for sustainable development in Natuna and other border areas.
