Esa Unggul University Karate Team once again made an outstanding achievement at the national level by winning the 2nd General Champion at the 1st CHAMPIONS UPI KARATE CUP V event held in Bandung, May 30 – June 1, 2025. Their participation not only produced a row of medals, but also emphasized the dominance of Esa Unggul University as one of the main forces in the world of college karate in Indonesia.
In this prestigious competition attended by various well-known universities, the Esa Unggul Karate Team performed impressively with a total of 15 medals consisting of 8 gold medals, 4 silver medals, and 3 bronze medals. Not only that, two of their athletes also won the prestigious Best of the Best award, signifying their technical excellence and mental competitiveness.
The athletes performed exceptionally well in the various events. Eight gold medals were won in the kata and kumite categories, both individual and team, including:
Men’s category:
Bripda. Yudha Fadillah Pratama – 1st place Kata Individual University Male
Fernanda Putri Wulan, Ivanda Leona Putri V, Nurfaiza Nova – 1st Place Kata Team University Male
- Rival Putra Hardyansyah – 1st Place Kumite -60kg
- M. Yusuf Bintang Susanto – 1st place in Kumite -67kg
- Serka. Ardwi Batara Putra – 1st place Kumite -84kg
Women’s Category:
- Annida Syadiahro – 1st Kumite Champion -50kg
- Fiftari Amelza – 1st Kumite Champion -55kg
- Anindya K. Maheswari – 1st place in Kumite -61kg
- Konsistensi Prestasi Tingkat Tinggi
Not only did the team sweep the gold medals, they also showed great consistency with an additional 4 silver medals, won by:
- Sertu. Irfan Arsal Fahsya – 2nd Place Kata Individual University Male
- Adrian Wicaksono Hansoku – 2nd place Kumite -60kg
- Sertu. Recky Samudra M. T – 2nd place Kumite -67kg
- Aprillia Bahrullah – 2nd Place Kumite +68kg
Additional Bronze Medal
Esa Unggul Karate Team also strengthened its dominance with 3 bronze medals, namely:
- Nabila Putri Ramadhani – 3rd place in Kata Individual University Female
- Raina Salma – 3rd place in Kumite -50kg
- Katuta Barera – 3rd place Kumite -75kg
Special Awards: Best of the Best
Two of Esa Unggul’s best athletes were named Best of the Best, a prestigious award given only to athletes with the highest performance throughout the tournament:
