Esaunggul.ac.id, In an effort to improve emergency response capabilities and save lives in the community, Universitas Esa Unggul and Universitas Indonesia Maju held a community service activity with the theme “Building a Generation of Emergency Response Through the Integration of Emergency Medical System Training Program and First Aid App”.

This activity took place at the RW 01 Kramat Senen Secretariat, Central Jakarta 10450, on July 23 to 26, 2024, at 09.00 – 16.00 WIB.

This activity was funded by the Directorate of Research, Technology, and Community Service (DRTPM)-Directorate General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology (Diktiristek)- Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (KEMDIKBUDRISTEK) in fiscal year 2024 and was attended by various elements of the local community, such as Posyandu Cadres, Posbindu Cadres, Mosque Youth, and Head of RT and Head of RW 01.

They were trained to be able to respond to emergency situations quickly and appropriately, and were given an in-depth understanding of the use of first aid apps that can help in emergency situations.

The training was led by experts from Universitas Esa Unggul, namely Ns. Budi Mulyana, S.Kep, BSN, M.Kep and Dr. Dra. Ratih Dyah Pertiwi, M.Farm, Apt, and Ns. Indri Sarwili, M.Kes from Universitas Indonesia Maju.

They were assisted by a team of students consisting of Yohanna Dwi Putri, Riska Amelia, Duta Andriyan Wibowo, Nawadier Syarief, and Miftahul Jannah.

The training provided material on the Emergency Medical System as well as simulations of handling emergency conditions such as accidents, heart attacks, and other injuries.

Participants were also trained to use the First Aid App, which is designed to assist ordinary people in providing first aid before professional medical personnel arrive at the location.

As the head of Universitas Esa Unggul representatives, Budi expressed his hope that the integration of the Emergency Medical System Training Program and First Aid App can equip mosque youth and posyandu cadres with effective emergency response skills.

“This young generation has an important role in maintaining the safety of their community, and this program is a real step to create a generation that is ready to face emergency situations quickly and accurately.” he said.

The Head of RW 01 Kramat Senen welcomed this activity, hoping that the cadres and mosque youth who participated in the training could spearhead in providing first aid in the community.

“We are greatly helped by this training. The knowledge we get is very useful and we can apply it in the neighborhood to help others,” he said.

Through this program, it is hoped that more people will have basic skills in responding to emergency situations, so that they can contribute to saving lives and improving the quality of health in the surrounding environment.

The follow-up of this activity is to provide assistance to cadres and adolescents who have been trained through whatsapp groups so that they can always get updated knowledge.
