In the spirit of strengthening collaboration networks between universities in Indonesia, Esa Unggul University Powered by Arizona State University held an audience meeting to explore cooperation with Baiturrahmah University on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at Baiturrahmah University, Padang.
On this occasion, Esa Unggul University was represented by Dr. Ayu Larasati, S.Sos., M.I.Kom., as the Head of the Cooperation Bureau. Meanwhile, Baiturrahmah University was represented by Dr. drg. Yulia Rahmad, M.Kes., as Vice Rector IV, and Dr. Edi Suandi as Head of Public Relations and Cooperation Bureau.
This audience meeting aims to explore various potential for cooperation within the scope of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, especially in:
- Student and faculty exchanges between institutions
- Scientific research collaborations involving lecturers and students from both universities
- Community service activities that have a direct impact on local communities
The main objective of this activity is to strengthen synergies between universities in improving the quality of education, expanding academic experience across campuses, and creating social impact through applicable collaborative programs. By establishing this strategic partnership, it is expected to create a higher education ecosystem that supports each other and is able to answer the challenges of the times, both locally and globally.
Dr. Ayu Larasati stated that Esa Unggul University is very open to strategic collaborations that focus on strengthening institutional capacity and human resources in higher education.
“With a collaborative spirit, we believe that this collaboration will open wide opportunities for academic development that is more inclusive and impact-oriented,” she said.
The Rector of Esa Unggul University, Dr. Ir. Arief Kusuma A.P., ST, MBA, IPU, ASEAN Eng, also expressed his support for the exploration of this collaboration. According to him, the Tri Dharma of Higher Education must continue to be supported by innovative and sustainable collaboration between educational institutions.
“Esa Unggul University, as part of Arizona State University’s global network, is ready to share best practices and contribute to efforts to strengthen the capacity of national universities through cooperation like this,” he said.
This meeting was closed with a positive spirit from both parties, who agreed to follow up the results of the hearing through the preparation of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and a cooperation agreement (PKS) in the near future.
