Esaunggul.ac.id, Universitas Esa Unggul successfully held a public lecture entitled “10 Years of Indonesian Diplomacy Journey” in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia. The event which took place on August 20, 2024 was held in a hybrid manner at Building A 811 Esa Unggul University and was attended by various universities in Indonesia.

On this occasion, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Dra. Retno Lestari Priansari Marsudi, S.H., LL.M., gave her speech through Zoom. She highlighted the importance of diplomacy in maintaining Indonesia’s stability and progress in the international arena over the past ten years. The past ten years have been a journey full of challenges but also achievements for Indonesian diplomacy. In an increasingly complex and dynamic world, our diplomacy continues to adapt, strengthening Indonesia’s position as a sovereign, independent, and influential country in the global arena.

“Through this public lecture, I hope that students can understand more about the strategic role of diplomacy in maintaining national interests and how the younger generation can contribute to maintaining the sustainability of Indonesia’s diplomacy in the future,” he said.

Ibnu Wahyutomo, S.H., LL.M., who attended Universitas Esa Unggul as the keynote speaker.

This public lecture also presented the Inspector General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ibnu Wahyutomo, S.H., LL.M., who was present directly at Universitas Esa Unggul as the main speaker. In his material, Ibnu Wahyutomo explained the various challenges and achievements of Indonesian diplomacy over the past decade, as well as the importance of the role of the younger generation in continuing the struggle of diplomacy in the future.

The Rector of Universitas Esa Unggul, Dr. Ir. Arief Kusuma A.P., ST, MBA, IPU, ASEAN Eng, also gave the opening speech. In his speech, he expressed his appreciation for the cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and expressed his hope that this public lecture could enrich students’ insights about Indonesian diplomacy and motivate them to participate in efforts to strengthen Indonesia’s position in the international world.

The public lecture received high enthusiasm from the participants, both those who attended in person and those who followed online, reflecting the great interest of the younger generation in diplomacy issues and Indonesia’s role in the global world.
