Esaunggul.ac.id – HMJ (Department Student Association) Interior Design from the Faculty of Design and Creative Industries, Universitas Esa Unggul successfully organized the RYP (Refresh Your Perspective) Competition & Exhibition – Seminar event on January 10-12, 2025. The event which took place at the National Library of Indonesia was lively with a series of activities in the form of student work exhibitions, seminars, and interior design competitions that attracted the attention of interior design and architecture students from all over Indonesia.
Exhibition: Enjoying the Creative Process of Interior Design
The three-day exhibition showcased the works of Universitas Esa Unggul interior design students. Located in the main exhibition area of the National Library of Indonesia, the works on display reflected the journey of the students’ creative process from the initial semester to the final project. With the theme “Journey in Designing,” this exhibition aims to provide insight to students and the general public on how an interior design is designed to become a complete and functional work.
Seminar: Strategies for Designing Hotel Restaurant Interiors
The seminar held on the first day of the exhibition, January 10, 2025, took place at the 4th Floor Exhibition Room of the National Library of Indonesia. With the theme “Designing Hotel Restaurant Interiors: Strategies for Aesthetics and Comfort,” the seminar presented Tanya Djohan Djasa, a leading interior design practitioner, as the speaker. The seminar started at 10.00 am and provided in-depth insights on how to create an interior design that is not only aesthetically pleasing but also provides comfort for the visitors. The enthusiasm of the participants could be seen from the interactive and inspiring question and answer session.
Competition: Interior Design Competition
As part of the event, an Interior Design Competition was held for active students majoring in interior design and architecture across Indonesia. The competition was a platform for participants to showcase their creativity and ability to design innovative interior designs. The finalists presented their work in front of a panel of judges consisting of academics and professional practitioners.
The Rector of Esa Unggul University, Dr. Ir. Arief Kusuma Among Praja, S.T., M.B.A., IPU, ASEAN Eng., expressed his appreciation for the implementation of this event. In his speech, he said, “RYP Competition & Exhibition is a clear proof that Universitas Esa Unggul students are able to create quality events that provide benefits not only for the campus but also for the wider community. I hope this event can be an inspiration for students to continue working and contributing to the world of interior design.”
Powered by Arizona State University (PBA) also provided great support in this event, ranging from curatorial assistance for the exhibition to providing an online discussion platform to expand the reach of the seminar to participants who could not attend in person. This support shows Universitas Esa Unggul ‘s commitment in providing education with international standards and based on global collaboration.
The event ended with the announcement of the winner of the interior design competition and appreciation to all participants and organizers. With the success of this event, Esa Unggul University again showed its commitment in supporting the creativity and innovation of its students to compete in the national and international arena.
