The Acceptance of Homevisite Program on Hospital Industry in Indonesia (modification of The Technology Acceptance Model)

Decision making process to accept a program is influenced by a range of stimuli either originating internally such as psychology, attitude, taste, traits, or external the customer such as the product itself that is attractive, economic factor, culture, as well as technology. Hospital management has now realized that to increase interest in visits or improve Bed Occupation Rate (BOR) management needs to understand the public perception of service programs provided by a hospital based on needs, wants and expectation of the hospital customer. This study was conducted with the aim to understand the perception of hospital customer to home visit program conducted on hospital industry in Indonesia. The research tested two important aspects in the technology acceptance theory namely perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use taking into account level of customer trust into the research model. This theory is basically used to see how the pattern of acceptance of respondents to technology. However, the theory is modified and tested to be applied to acceptance of home visit program of hospital customers. The author collected data from 72 expectant mothers; those who would evaluate usefulness and ease of a home visit program. The results indicate that home visit program not only is perceived provides usefulness significantly in child birth (before, during, and and after delivery), but it also is perceived easy to use. The two factors influence the level of trust and interest to give birth at hospital significantly. The findings show that the technology accepatance model (TAM) may also be used in health research, particularly on program acceptance-in this case: home visit program.
