Public Lecture “Normal Development & Normal Movement” Faculty of Physiotherapy Universitas Esa Unggul

Jakarta, 17 Januari 2025 –

The Faculty of Physiotherapy at Universitas Esa Unggul held a public lecture with the theme “Normal Development & Normal Movement” on Friday, January 17, 2025, at Room 8.11 of Universitas Esa Unggul. The event began with remarks from the Dean of Faculty of Physiotherapy, Dr. Rian Adi Pamungkas, S.Kep, MNS, PHN, who welcomed the enthusiastic participants of the public lecture, both students and lecturers, and expressed the importance of the topics to be discussed in increasing students’ knowledge and skills in the field of physiotherapy.

The next event was guided by the moderator Mr. Ahmad Syakib, who guided the course of the public lecture smoothly and interactively. The public lecture material themed “Normal Development & Normal Movement” was presented and practiced by Mr. Hong Jung Sun, PT, MPH, an experienced physiotherapy practitioner sharing his knowledge on normal human development and optimal body movement in the context of rehabilitation and health.

Mr. Hong Jung Sun, PT, MPH, explained the physical development of children and how eye focus is important. Through his presentation, children with various conditions underwent several rounds of therapy and experienced significant physical development. The therapy helped improve posture, movement, and development. He also talked about how the brain works and how it relates to movement. 

The participants were very enthusiastic about the presentation, which was complemented by a live demonstration of correct movements and their effect on physical development. At the end of the session, it was followed by a question and answer session (QnA) which gave students the opportunity to delve further into the topics discussed, as well as ask Mr. Hong Jung Sun, PT, MPH directly about Physiotherapy Science and cases that occur in the field.

Dr. Arief Kusuma Among Praja, ST, MBA, IPU, ASEAN Eng. as the rector of Universitas Esa Unggul stated a public lecture that presented Mr. Hong Jung Sun, PT, MPH as a speaker, successfully connecting theory and practice directly with great relevance according to the development of Physiotherapy Science. “Physiotherapy, as one of the rapidly developing fields of health science, requires an approach based on an understanding of the development of the body and healthy body movements. This public lecture provides an opportunity for students to gain knowledge from experienced practitioners that they can apply directly in their practice later,” said Dr. Arief.

The public lecture was closed by giving souvenirs as a token of appreciation to Mr. Hong Jung Sun for his contribution in delivering very useful material. In closing, the event continued with a group photo at the end of this remarkable event.
