Esaunggul.ac.id, Esa Unggul University in collaboration with Harian Terbit successfully held a seminar, workshop, and journalistic talk show themed “Actualizing Information in the Digital Era” on Wednesday, January 15, 2025. This event took place at Esa Unggul University Campus, West Jakarta, as part of the series of celebrations for the 53rd Anniversary of Harian Terbit.

On this occasion, a cooperation signing was also held between Harian Terbit and Esa Unggul University. This cooperation was represented by the Editor-in-Chief of Harian Terbit, Zamzam Siregar, and the Dean of the Faculty of Communication Sciences of Esa Unggul University, Dr. Erna Febriani, S.Si, M.Si. This signing is a strategic step to strengthen the relationship between the academic world and the media industry.
This journalism seminar was organized with the support of Sinarmasland, Immigration, and Yogurto. The support from these partners helped the success of the event which became a learning platform for students, especially the Faculty of Communication Sciences.
Since the registration session before entering the hall, the enthusiasm of Esa Unggul University students was clearly visible. With a large number of participants, the event started at 09.00 WIB and lasted until 14.00 WIB.
Seminar Sessions and Resource Persons
This seminar presented three experienced speakers who presented inspirational material:
- Ballian Siregar, S.Sos, M.Si – Vice Dean of the Faculty of Communication Sciences, Esa Unggul University, discussed the importance of digital literacy in the modern journalistic world.
- Dr. Untung – Senior journalist of Harian Terbit and lecturer at Budi Luhur University, delivered a presentation on journalistic ethics in the digital era.
- Alexander Suban – Senior photographer and lecturer at Universitas Multimedia Nusantara, provided in-depth insights on information visualization through journalistic photography.
Dean of the Faculty of Communication Sciences, Esa Unggul University, Dr. Erna Febriani, S.Si, M.Si, in her speech said, “This seminar is very relevant for students of the Faculty of Communication Sciences who want to enter the media world. We hope this event will be a motivation to continue learning and innovating in delivering information.”
