esaunggul.ac.id – Faculty of Psychology of Universitas Esa Unggul held a public lecture themed “Becoming a Successful Individual Now & Later” on Tuesday, December 17, 2024. This event presented two inspirational speakers, namely Tommy Ibnu Prawira, S.Psi. (HR Manager of PT. Mitsubishi Electric Indonesia) and Panji Muhammad Dawud, S.Psi. (Owner of “Kepiting Mertua”). Located in the Auditorium of Universitas Esa Unggul, this event was attended by students, lecturers, and other invited guests.
In this public lecture, both speakers delivered interesting material that discussed various topics. The topics included inspirational stories of successful entrepreneurs in the world and in Indonesia, comparison between formal and informal workers, the ratio of entrepreneurs in Indonesia, the key to success, and the importance of understanding that there is no instant success.
The event was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Psychology, Yuli Azmi Rozali, S.Psi, M.Psi, who expressed his appreciation for the importance of this theme for students. The event was hosted by a Psychology student, adding to the interactive and vibrant atmosphere of the discussion.
Panji Muhammad Dawud, S.Psi, as a successful young entrepreneur, emphasized that success for him is being an independent, creative, confident person, providing benefits to the environment, but still upholding good manners. “Success is not only measured by material, but also by the extent to which we are able to have a positive impact on our surroundings,” said Panji.
Meanwhile, Tommy Ibnu Prawira, S.Psi, shared his perspective on success in the world of work. According to him, success is when someone is part of a positive benefit. “Every individual has a unique role, and true success is when we are able to make a meaningful contribution,” Tommy explained.

The Rector of Universitas Esa Unggul, Dr. Ir. Arief Kusuma Among Praja, S.T., M.B.A., IPU, ASEAN Eng., also gave his response to the implementation of this event. In his speech, he stated, “Events like this are very important to open students’ horizons, not only about psychological theories, but also their application in the real world. I hope this public lecture can be an inspiration for all students to continue to develop their potential.”
Powered By Arizona (PBA) Program students also played an active role in this event. They contributed to various aspects of the event, from preparation to execution. Their roles included managing participant registration, documentation, and helping smooth discussions during the event. This shows how PBA students not only excel academically but also have good organizational skills.
The event ended with an interactive question and answer session. The participants had the opportunity to dig deeper into the views of the two speakers about the challenges and opportunities in achieving success. This public lecture is expected to motivate Universitas Esa Unggul students to continue to strive and try to become successful individuals, both now and in the future.
