The government should also facilitate and empower local communities to increase their knowledge, awareness and participation in TB control efforts. In addition, the involvement of various sectors, such as health, education and social welfare, is needed to address the root causes of TB vulnerability in rural areas. The use of the Village Fund (Dana Desa) can be one source of funding for TB control in rural areas. Successful TB control in rural areas requires sustained efforts and collective action from all stakeholders.
