Esaunggul.ac.id, As the closing of a series of activities in 2024, the DKI Jakarta Province PERKEMI (Shorinji Kempo Indonesia) Management successfully held the Inter-Djo Championship throughout DKI Jakarta in 2024 Trilogi University Rector Cup. This championship took place on 22 to 23 December 2024, at Trilogi University, Kalibata, South Jakarta. This championship was attended by more than 300 kenshi from 13 dojo or Shorinji Kempo clubs spread across five DKI Jakarta regions.
One of the participants from the Universitas Esa Unggul Dojo, Ariansyah Nur Rohman, who is a student of the Faculty of Computer Science class of 2020, took part in the 60 kg Adult Men’s Randori number. Ariansyah, who is familiarly called by the name ‘Ari,’ is a young athlete who is full of enthusiasm and determined to make higher achievements in the world of Shorinji Kempo.
In the Randori number he competed in, Ari had to face the host Kenshi, Ahmad Kurniawan, a national athlete who had competed for DKI Jakarta in PON 2016 and POMNAS 2019. Ahmad, who is known for his mature competition experience, is certainly a tough opponent for Ari. Although Ari had to recognise his opponent’s higher level of experience, he showed great spirit and used the experience of competing against Ahmad as motivation to improve in the future.
‘I feel proud to be able to compete in this championship despite facing experienced opponents. Although the results were not as expected, the experience of competing in an event like this is very valuable. This is a motivation for me to continue training and achieve achievements in the next championships,’ he said after the match.
