Esa Unggul Lecturer Develops MSME Actors to Increase Production and Income

Esaunggul.ac.id, The activity which invited several instructors from the POM Agency and MSME assistants as presenters was held for four days from Thursday (16/11/2023) to Sunday (19/11/2023). When opening the event entitled Educational Partnership and Development of Rendang Production to Increase Exports through Quality Production Management, UEU Vice Rector II, Rian Adi Pamugkas, revealed that this coaching event is expected to provide strengthening knowledge and expertise for MSMEs to develop better.

“In this coaching program, the UEU lecturer team helps provide assistance so that MSME entrepreneurs can package their products better, the quality of their products meets BPOM and HALAL requirements, so it is hoped that after participating in this coaching program their products can be sold at a better price than before,” he said. Rian explained that this coaching program was given to MSME entrepreneurs, especially those engaged in the production of rendang. This traditional food industry from West Sumatra has a wide market share, and even has a large share to be exported to foreign countries. “Some time ago when I went to America, I found rendang food being sold there. This means that this rendang product has a great opportunity as an export product, and has a large market share abroad,” he said.

Head of the Research and Community Service Institute (LPPM) of UEU, Laras Sitoayu, explained that this activity was part of the Community Service (PkM) activities of UEU lecturers and students. This activity is funded by the Directorate of Research and Community Service of the Directorate General of Strengthening Research and Development of the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education. “This activity is UEU’s effort to transfer science and technology from universities to the community,” he added.
