Collaboration Meeting and Sharing Session between Faculty of Psychology, Esa Unggul University (UEU) and International Association of Indigenous and Cultural Psychology (IAICP)

Esaunggul.ac.id, The Faculty of Psychology at Esa Unggul University (UEU) held a collaboration meeting and sharing session with the International Association of Indigenous and Cultural Psychology (IAICP) on Wednesday, March 5, 2025. This event is an important momentum in strengthening academic cooperation and the development of cultural psychology and indigenous psychology.

The Rector of Esa Unggul University, Dr. Ir. Arief Kusuma Among Praja, ST, MBA, IPU, ASEAN Eng, opened and welcomed this activity with enthusiasm. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of global collaboration in the academic world, especially in the field of cultural psychology which has a strategic role in understanding the diversity of society.

“We believe that cooperation with IAICP will bring great benefits to the development of psychology, especially in understanding cultural diversity and indigenous psychology. Esa Unggul University continues to be committed to building international networks to broaden academic horizons for students and lecturers,” said Dr. Arief Kusuma.

After the speech from the Rector of UEU, the event continued with a brief speech from Prof. Uichol Kim, as President of IAICP, who was accompanied by Dr. Yoes Dinain Nugraha, M.A., as Secretary General of IAICP. Prof. Uichol Kim appreciated Esa Unggul University’s steps in developing international networks in the field of psychology and encouraging research that is more inclusive of local cultures and indigenous peoples.

The core of this event was a sharing session hosted by Prof. Uichol Kim. In this session, the academic community of Esa Unggul University gained in-depth insight into the development of cultural psychology and its impact on scientific approaches in understanding human behavior in various social contexts.

In addition to academic discussions, this meeting was also marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Esa Unggul University and IAICP. This MoU is expected to be the basis for further cooperation in the fields of research, teaching, and academic exchange between the two institutions.

With this meeting, Esa Unggul University further strengthens its position as a higher education institution that is active in establishing international cooperation and contributing to the development of a more inclusive and culture-based psychological science.
