The Yogyakarta Invitation International Judo Championship 2024 has managed to attract the attention of many parties, with 340 athletes participating in heating up the competition for the title. The event took place from Friday to Sunday, October 25 to 27, 2024, at the Auditorium of Universitas PGRI Yogyakarta (UPY), which witnessed the toughness of judo-ka (judo athletes) from various countries.
A total of 340 athletes from 39 judo clubs or associations spread across Indonesia and abroad enlivened the competition this time. Not only athletes from Indonesia, but also from other countries such as Japan, Korea, Singapore, and Australia, who showed high quality in judo. The fierce competition in various categories attracted the attention of many spectators and added to the lively atmosphere of the championship.
One of the unforgettable moments in this event was the brilliant achievement made by Rafli Adli Farhan, a Physiotherapy student from Universitas Esa Unggul class of 2024. Rafli successfully won the 2nd place title in the 81 Kg category at the Yogyakarta Invitation International Judo Championship. This achievement is a pride to be reckoned with because he managed to compete with professional athletes in the national and international arena.
The Rector of Universitas Esa Unggul, Dr. Ir. Arief Kusuma A.P., ST, MBA, IPU, ASEAN Eng, expressed his high appreciation for the achievements made by Rafli Adli Farhan in the Yogyakarta Invitation International Judo Championship. “We are very proud of the results achieved by Rafli Adli Farhan. This proves that our students have the best quality not only in academics but also non-academics, especially sports,” he said.
Beliau menambahkan, Rafli tidak hanya mengharumkan nama Universitas Esa Unggul, tetapi juga contoh mahasiswa berprestasi. Universitas Esa Unggul berharap prestasi yang diraih Rafli, mampu menjadi pemacu semangat bagi mahasiswa untuk mengembangkan diri, baik di bidang akademik maupun non akademik.
Rafli menyampaikan pesan untuk teman-temannya yang ingin meraih prestasi serupa. “Jangan takut untuk bermimpi besar dan berusaha keras. Prestasi bukanlah hal yang datang dengan mudah, tetapi jika kita berkomitmen dan fokus pada tujuan, segala sesuatu akan terasa lebih mungkin untuk dicapai. Teruslah berlatih dan jangan pernah menyerah.”,
Kejuaraan Yogyakarta Invitation International Judo Championship 2024 bukan hanya tentang memenangkan medali, tetapi juga tentang membangun semangat persaingan yang sehat dan menjalin hubungan antar atlet dari berbagai negara.
