Esaunggul.ac.id, In the event of Physiotherapy Sports Week (Porfis 2024), UKM Futsal Universitas Esa Unggul (UEU) performed brilliantly by winning second place. The competition that brought together universities throughout Jabodetabek was organized by the Faculty of Physiotherapy, Universitas Esa Unggul and took place at the UEU futsal field.
As the host, UKM Futsal UEU showed an outstanding performance and managed to advance to the final round, where they faced Podomoro University. The match was fierce and tense until it had to be decided on penalties. Unfortunately, UEU Futsal UKM failed to capitalize on the opportunity in the penalty shootout and had to settle for the runner-up position.
Oktavianus S. Hutasoit, the coach of UKM Futsal Universitas Esa Unggul regarding his team’s achievement, we are proud of the struggle and hard work of the players of UKM Futsal Universitas Esa Unggul. Although we didn’t manage to win the first place, the achievement as runner-up and Lecy who was named as the top score is a clear proof of the ability and potential of this team. We will continue to train and improve ourselves to come back stronger in future competitions,” said Oktavianus S. Hutasoit.
Despite failing to win the first place title, UKM Futsal UEU still obtained other achievements. Lecy, one of the mainstay players from UKM Futsal Esa Unggul, was named the top score in this tournament thanks to her impressive performance throughout the match.
This achievement is a source of pride for Universitas Esa Unggul and shows the competitive spirit and ability of the UEU student athletes in the university level futsal event. Porfis 2024 is also a means to strengthen inter-university relations while encouraging the development of futsal sports in the academic environment.
