Esaunggul.ac.id, Faculty of Psychology of Esa Unggul University once again held an inspirational activity entitled “Nation & Personal Character Building Based on Pancasila and Heroic Leadership Approach” on Saturday, June 28, 2025. Located in the Faculty of Psychology, Esa Unggul Campus Jakarta, this activity became a reflective and educational space for participants to strengthen the values of nationalism, personal responsibility, and the spirit of leadership based on the noble values of Pancasila.

The event began with the singing of the national anthem Indonesia Raya and was officially opened by the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Psychology, Dr. Evi Febriani, M.Psi, who in her speech emphasized the importance of the role of the younger generation as true leaders who uphold human values and social justice.

“True leaders are those who do not give up, uphold human dignity, and are based on the noble values of Pancasila: Divinity, Humanity, Unity, Deliberation, and Social Justice,” said Dr. Evi.

Guided by two experienced instructors, Dr. Antonius D.R. Manurung, M.Si. and Kamalia, S.Psi., M.Si., the participants were actively involved in a series of dynamic activities that raised self-awareness, the spirit of collaboration, and the courage to take part in change. Several interesting activities also colored this activity, ranging from the preparation of a personal mission (rocket mission), Joget Makarena, reading the poem “I Don’t Choose to Be an Ordinary Person”, to the reflection session “Kulihat Ibu Pertiwi”. Activities were also integrated with pre tests, post tests, and evaluative reflections to strengthen participants’ understanding of character values.

Interestingly, this activity has begun with an online briefing session through Zoom, as a form of preparation and strengthening of values early on before the offline implementation.

The Rector of Esa Unggul University, Dr. Ir. Arief Kusuma Among Praja, ST, MBA, IPU, ASEAN Eng, expressed his appreciation for this activity as a concrete step in student character building.

“University is not only a place for intellectual development, but also a center for character building. Activities like this are an important foundation in shaping superior individuals who are resilient, empathetic, and ready to lead the nation’s future. The spirit of heroic leadership instilled today is an important provision towards a more civilized and competitive Indonesia,” he said.

This activity raised the spirit of Bung Karno’s famous quote:

“Give me 1,000 old men, and I will surely pull Semeru from its roots. Give me 10 young men, and I will shake the world.”

With this spirit, Esa Unggul University hopes that this activity can be an important moment in the life journey of students to recognize their potential, set the direction of life, and strengthen their commitment in building a better Indonesia through superior character and heroic leadership.
