Esaunggul.ac.id, Universitas Esa Unggul (UEU) successfully held a public lecture entitled “Assessing Financial Feasibility Before Starting a Business”, as part of the Entrepreneurship course in the PAMU & Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program. Organized in a hybrid manner, which was held at the Esa Unggul University Kemala Ballroom and Zoom Meeting on Friday, June 20, 2025, this activity was attended by students and lecturers.

This activity was officially opened and welcomed by Dr. Hj Cri Puspa Dewi Motik, M.A., M.Si., as a Lecturer at Esa Unggul University. In her speech, she emphasized the importance of mental and financial readiness before starting a business. She also appreciated the enthusiasm of the students in participating in this activity as part of developing entrepreneurial competencies in the digital era.

This public lecture is an Entrepreneurship course and presents two experienced speakers: Andi Muhammad Muhmin and Dodi Ria Admaja. Both provided in-depth material on the importance of financial feasibility studies as a basis for designing a sustainable business.

Andi Muhammad Muhmin presented the topic of preparing financial projections, which included estimates of initial capital, operating costs, and revenue. He also introduced important analytical tools such as break-even point, return on investment (ROI), and payback period, delivered through a case study of a budding startup.

Meanwhile, Dodi Ria Admaja provided technical guidance on preparing financial statements for micro and medium enterprises, covering profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flows. He emphasized the importance of financial literacy and consistency in recording data as the foundation of healthy business management.

The participants gained many benefits from this activity, including:

  • In-depth understanding of financial analysis in business.
  • Initial provision to develop a feasibility study-based business proposal.
  • Practical insights directly from entrepreneurial practitioners and academics.

With an efficient total budget of Rp1,130,000 for the honorarium of two speakers and one moderator, this event ran smoothly and received high enthusiasm from the participants.

According to Dr. Abdurrahman, SKM, MM, Head of UEU’s PAMU & MBKM Program, this public lecture is a concrete provision for students in designing a business that is both creative and financially viable.

“The financial aspect is the main foundation in business sustainability. Through this activity, we want to foster a resilient, rational, and planned entrepreneurial spirit among students,” he said.

The Rector of Esa Unggul University, Dr. Ir. Arief Kusuma Among Praja, ST, MBA, IPU, ASEAN Eng, also gave his appreciation for the organization of this activity.

“This public lecture is in line with the spirit of Esa Unggul University in producing an adaptive and highly competitive entrepreneurial generation. Students must be equipped with analytical skills and careful planning before entering the business world,” he said.
“We will continue to support entrepreneurship-based activities that integrate theory and real practice like this,” he added.

The activity was closed with a photo session with all speakers, moderators, lecturers, and students participating in the public lecture as a form of documentation and togetherness.
