Esaunggul.ac.id, Esa Unggul University Tangerang Campus shows its commitment in supporting the national movement to accelerate stunting prevention through a collaborative activity entitled “MDTV Goes to Campus: Stop Stunting, Start Growing!”, in collaboration with MD Entertainment Foundation.

The activity, which took place at the 4th Floor Auditorium of Esa Unggul University Tangerang Campus, was attended by 350 students from various study programs and was filled with documentary film screenings, interactive discussions, and creative campaign competitions. The goal was to instill a strong understanding of the importance of stunting prevention from an early age, with an educational, visual, and inspiring approach.

The event was opened by the Vice Rector III of Esa Unggul University, Ari Pambudi, S.Kom., M.Kom., accompanied by Didin Wahidin, Plt. Director of Esa Unggul University Tangerang Campus. In his speech, Ari Pambudi emphasized that stunting is a serious issue that needs to be addressed together by all elements of society, especially the younger generation who are the spearhead of social change.

“We hope that students will not only understand the issue of stunting theoretically, but also be moved to be part of the solution through education and real action in the community. Campus is the starting place for shaping awareness, and this event is a clear example that collaboration can be a force in driving change.”

Meanwhile, the Rector of Esa Unggul University, Dr. Ir. Arief Kusuma Among Praja, ST, MBA, IPU, ASEAN Eng, in a separate statement also expressed his appreciation:

“We strongly support activities like this, because it is in accordance with the vision of Esa Unggul University in forming graduates who are not only academically superior, but also care about social issues and public health. Collaboration between universities and creative industries such as MDTV is very important in delivering the message of change in a more relevant and impactful way,” he said.

The discussion in this activity presented competent speakers, namely:

  2. Nayla Punjabi – Producer & Director of the documentary film “Indonesia’s Silent Emergency: Stunting in Rural Populations”
  3. Astrid Suryatenggara – Chief Communication Officer MD Entertainment
  4. Dodi Nuriana – Program Manager One Thousand Days Fund

The documentary exclusively showed a real portrait of the challenges rural communities face in dealing with stunting. This session was followed by a competition, where students competed to deliver a short and creative stunting prevention campaign message. There was great enthusiasm from the participants, and the winners received cash prizes and exclusive merchandise from MDTV.

One of the participants, Maya Julia, shared her impression:

“I just really understood that stunting is not just a matter of height, but concerns the future of generations and nation building. This event opened my eyes, and I am excited to participate in voicing this issue through social media or activities in the neighborhood.”

This activity is a real reflection of the collaborative spirit between the world of education, health, and the creative industry to voice national strategic issues through an educational, creative, and impactful approach.
