
The more rapid flow of digitalization caused by the development of industrial era 4.0 makes the education world should follow and even align with the teaching, curriculum and academic processes. That what the lecturers discuss in Esa Unggul University Lecturer Meeting as the preparation of the 2018/2019 academic year, Tuesday (02/19).
The Rector of the Esa Unggul University, Dr.Ir. Arief Kusuma, M.B.A in his speech asked lecturers of Esa Unggul University to adjust the learning process with E-learning methods, ranging from modules to Videos usage. Mr. Arief continued the method of learning video conferences will be one of the methods that will be carried out in conducting the teaching and learning process.

“Ladies and Gentlemen, I hope we prepare a new learning method that align to the current era of 4.0. Although, I believe we still have benefit of our learning method, which are face to face, but these method of learning will gradually move to long-distance-learning method, which is certainly carried out without reducing the quality of education,” Mr. Arief said
Meanwhile, Vice Rector II, Dr.Purwanto explained that the transformation of education from traditional to digital E-Learning is done to facilitate the learning process that can penetrate national and time boundaries, besides there are cost efficiencies incurred without reducing the quality of learning. So, he proposed that later learning method in UEU would be carried out use flexible technology, namely Smartphone.

“Ladies and gentlemen, we will try to teach materials and we convert to the flexible technology, smartphone. You will make teaching materials in powerpoint, so students can read teaching materials via cellphone, no need for laptops. Later, they can access teaching materials, including videos, wherever they are, whether on the beach, at the mall or other places, ” Mr. Purwanto said.
He hoped the learning method offered was able to answer the challenges in the industrial era 4.0 in the world of education. In his opinion, the challenge of adjusting teaching method should not be a duty for educators, especially for lecturers to deliver materials to students, instead this should have give innovations for lecturers to make more interesting and innovative materials.
The discussion was held at the Hall of Kemala Ballroom, Esa Unggul University, Kebon Jeruk. It was attended by all lecturers, Head of Study Program and Dean of the Faculty of Esa Unggul University from four campuses, Kebon Jeruk, Esa Unggul Citra Raya, Esa Unggul Harapan Indah and Esa Unggul Gading Serpong International Campus. Moreover, the rector announced several of lecturers, Head of Study Programs, Deputy Deans and Deans who had good performance in Esa Unggul.
