Esaunggul.ac.id, Universitas Esa Unggul (UEU) lecturer team held a community service activity in the form of Augmented Reality (AR) technology training for teachers of SDN Larangan 5 Tangerang City.

The activity, which took place in June 2023, aims to improve teachers’ ability to integrate AR technology into the learning process.

Community service activities carried out by universities have proven to provide significant benefits to the community. This can be seen from the results of the Augmented Reality (AR) technology training program carried out by the Esa Unggul University (UEU) lecturer team at SDN Larangan 5, Tangerang City.

Diah Aryani, head of the community service team, said this activity was motivated by the need for more interactive and interesting learning methods.

“AR technology allows visualization of subject matter in 3D that can increase student interest and understanding. In addition, she explained that this program succeeded in increasing teacher understanding and interest in AR technology by 50%. “This shows that the transfer of knowledge from campus to society is effective,” he said.

The training was attended by all teachers of SDN Larangan 5 and consisted of concept introduction sessions and hands-on practice using AR applications in learning.

The evaluation results showed a significant increase in teachers’ understanding and interest in the use of AR technology, with a 50% increase compared to before the training.

The benefits of community service are not only felt by the program recipients. According to Diah Aryani, this activity also provides an opportunity for lecturers to apply their knowledge in a real context.

“It enriches our experience as academics and helps us understand the real needs in the field,” she added.

Meanwhile, the Head of SDN Larangan 5, Mr. Cece, Spd.,MM, appreciated the program. “We feel helped by this training. The teachers are more confident in using technology in learning and hope to apply the knowledge gained to create a more enjoyable learning atmosphere for students,” he said.

The principal of SDN Larangan 5, Mr. Cece, Spd.,MM, positively welcomed this activity. “We hope that the teachers can apply the knowledge gained to create a more pleasant learning atmosphere for students,” he said.

The UEU team plans to continue this program with AR implementation assistance in the classroom and AR content development for various subjects.

It is hoped that this initiative can improve the quality of learning at the elementary school level and hope that teachers can apply the knowledge gained to create a more pleasant learning atmosphere for students.
