Esaunggul.ac.id, MIK Esa Unggul students have just made a great achievement in the HIM Student Talent Competition organised by the International Federation of Health Information Management Association (IFHIMA), especially in the South East Asia Region (SEAR). This competition aims to open opportunities for students from various countries to compete, innovate, and exchange ideas.
By participating in this competition, students can broaden their horizons, interact with students from other countries, and develop professional networks in the MIK field.
The competition brings together the best students from various universities in Southeast Asia to compete in three challenging categories.
- Electronic Medical Record Contest
The first competition was the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Contest, which tested the participants’ ability to solve cases related to the management and use of electronic medical records effectively and efficiently.
The MIK Esa Unggul team consisting of Samuel Rapha Mahani (20210304009), Eliviana Rohmawati (20200304030), and Vira Febriyana (20200304007) won 1st place in this competition.
They showed outstanding ability in optimising the use of EMR to improve the quality of health services. As winners, they received 200 USD in cash, a certificate of recognition, as well as potential exposure to industry professionals that could open up future career opportunities.
- Clinical Coding Innovation Challenge
The second competition, Clinical Coding Innovation Challenge, challenged participants to innovate in clinical coding using international standards such as ICD-10 and ICD-9-CM.
The MIK Esa Unggul team consisting of Shandrika Indra Pratama (20220304007), Syalaisha Nuraini Rachmadian (20220304005), and Herliani Florentina Simanjuntak (20220304030) also won 1st place in this category.
The team successfully demonstrated creativity and accuracy in the application of clinical codes to improve the efficiency and accuracy of health data. They also received 200 USD in cash, a certificate of recognition, and the opportunity to interact with industry professionals.
- Social Media Influencer Challenge
The last competition, the Social Media Influencer Challenge, tested participants’ ability to design an engaging health education campaign through social media to raise public awareness of certain health issues.
The team from MIK Esa Unggul consisting of Ayulia Putri (20210304015), Amelia Aruni (20220304029), and Steven Rhinaldi (20220304013) won 1st place in this competition.
Their campaign successfully reached a wide audience and built awareness about the importance of a healthy lifestyle. The team also received 200 USD in cash, a certificate of recognition, and the opportunity to introduce their idea to industry professionals.
