Is Driving Experience Really The Most Related Factor to Traffic Accidents?

Traffic Accident is a global problem in the world and has been the third largest killer in Indonesia after HIV, tuberculosis and malarial. Based on the data obtained there were 720 traffic accidents involving 294 water tanker trucks, 231 truckers and 132 Fuso truck drivers 40 feet and 62 minibus drivers. This research is analysed with cross-sectional design. Sample size in this research is 81 driver by using proportionate stratified random sampling technique is technique based on existence of level or group. The results of this research are knowledge, attitude, experience and behavior had associated with traffic accidents. And the most closely factor related to the traffic accidents was driving experience of driver. To prevent traffic accident, company carry out education about occupational health and safety such as hazard and risk, safety driving and so on, give safety briefing to remind the driver behave safely in work, display some posters about health and safety or safety driving in the company building or stick a sticker on the glass truck associated with safety driving should be a nice try to build safety culture in that company, check the health condition of drivers and make some procedurers about their tasks as a driver.
