Universitas Esa Unggul (UEU) was established on October 6, 1993 under the auspices of Kemala Bangsa Education Foundation. Currently, Esa Unggul University has 3 campuses located in a number of strategic areas, namely in Jakarta, Tangerang and Bekasi.
To achieve its goal to be recognized as a world class university, Universitas Esa Unggul has a vision and mission. The vision of Universitas Esa Unggul is “to become a world-class university based on intellectuality, creativity and entrepreneurship that excels in the quality of management (process) and results (output) of Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi activities”. While its mission is “to organize quality and relevant education, create a conducive academic atmosphere, create leaders with character and high competitiveness.
Universitas Esa Unggul has built a solid foundation for the growth and progress of a visionary and modern university through the implementation of three pillars of excellence: Entrepreneurship, Information Technology, and Communication Skills. The university continues to strive to be the flagship and barometer of modernity in education, along with its facilities. Based on UI GreenMetric World University, Universitas Esa Unggul is ranked 33rd in Indonesia and 261st in the world.
With a variety of study programs offered, the Faculty of Health Sciences at Esa Unggul is one of the faculties that stands out for its achievements. In recent years, this program has shown significant excellence in various aspects, from the quality of education, facilities, to professional development for students.
One of the excellent study programs in the faculty of Health Sciences at Universitas Esa Unggul is the Biotechnology department. This study program has been recognized because it has superior accreditation. In addition to biotechnology, the faculty of Health Sciences at Esa Unggul also has a study program that already has superior accreditation and has a reputation at the international level, namely the Nutrition Science study program.

The favorite and pioneering major in Indonesia at Universitas Esa Unggul is Physiotherapy. In terms of accreditation, Universitas Esa Unggul S1 Physiotherapy major has superior accreditation from the Indonesian Institute for Self-Accreditation of Higher Education in Health (LAM-PTKes), making it one of the universities in Indonesia with the best quality physiotherapy study programs.
In addition, this university is also one of the earliest universities in Indonesia to implement E-Learning and double degree learning program methods. These two learning programs began to be implemented in 2005 where at that time there were still few universities that had implemented the system.
In order to improve its quality, in May 2022, Universitas Esa Unggul has also officially collaborated with one of the leading universities in the United States, Arizona State University. In addition, Esa Unggul has also joined a network called Asu-Cintana Alliance. This network, which contains a number of global universities, aims to develop and improve high-quality academic programs. Some of these efforts are made to realize as a university with world-class education in Indonesia.
Universitas Esa Unggul will be 31 years old on October 6. Esa Unggul has experienced consistent growth and development since its establishment in 1993. Therefore, it is expected that with several programs currently running, it can maintain and even increase this growth.
Currently, Universitas Esa Unggul is led by Dr. Ir. Arief Kusuma A.P., ST, MBA, IPU, ASEAN Eng. Under his leadership, Esa Unggul currently has more than 20,000 students and 600 lecturers. As rector, he is a leader who has brought many positive changes and progress to this university. With visionary leadership and strong dedication, Dr. Ir. Arief Kusuma has succeeded in bringing Universitas Esa Unggul to a better direction, making it a superior and leading educational institution.
