Relationship Diabetic Distress With Quality Of Life People Wih Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus In Community Dwelling

This study aims to describe the quality of life and to know the relationship of diabetic distress with the quality of life of people with type 2 diabetes in Kalideres district, West Jakarta. The study used cross sectional approach, conducted on 333 elderly respondents who live in community area Kalideres District, West Jakarta. Quality of life was assessed using World Health Quality of Life (BREF) and diabetic distress at values using the Distress Diabetic Scale 17 (DDS-17). People with type 2 diabetes has a mean value of 77.53 quality of life in a 95% confidence interval (CI) of 76.95 to 78.11 and diabetic distress condition 52.3%. The bivariate test used is t independent, p value = 0.0001 (95% CI). There is a relationship between diabetic distress and quality of life of people with type 2 diabetes in Kalideres district, West Jakarta. It is expected that people with type 2 diabetes mellitus can manage the perceived distress condition by seeking positive support in an effort to improve health, motivate themselves to remain enthusiastic, be open in expressing opinions for health care, and doing positive comparisons.
