Esaunggul.ac.id — Esa Unggul University, powered by Arizona State University, has once again demonstrated its commitment to driving digital education transformation through its Community Service Program (PkM). This time, the program took the form of training on utilizing the Learning Management System (LMS) and supporting digital applications for teachers at SMAN 1 Setu in Bekasi Regency, West Java.

The activity, which took place in the Odd Academic Year 2025/2026, was led by Yunata Kandhias Akbar, S.E., M.M., and supported by two accompanying lecturers, namely Muhamad Sobri, S.SI., M.T. and Dr. Imam Santosa, M.Pd. This program also involved five active students of Esa Unggul University as part of the implementation team, namely Riefa Maesa, Savira Aprillia, Joany Ally Tanoto, Chandra F. Rooroh, and Shintia Rahmadani.

The training was held at SMAN 1 Setu, located in the Graha Mustika Media Housing Complex on Jalan Pala Raya Block F, Lubang Buaya, Setu District, Bekasi Regency. The program was designed to improve teachers' competency in managing digital-based learning while encouraging active student participation in the teaching and learning process utilizing technology.

Based Training Hands-On Training and Workshop

The series of activities began with a socialization session regarding the important role of technology in 21st century education, followed by direct training of a... hands-on training and workshops. Participants received comprehensive guidance on managing an LMS, from creating digital classes and uploading learning materials, managing assignments and quizzes, using discussion forums, and implementing an online assessment system.

In addition to mastering the LMS, teachers were also introduced to two digital applications that support language learning: Duolingo and Babbel. Both applications were integrated into the LMS to create a more interactive and enjoyable learning experience for students.

Real Results: Teacher Competence Increases Significantly

Based on the evaluation results through pre-test and post-test, this training succeeded in recording a significant increase in competence among participants.

One of the teachers participating in the training shared his impressions of the program:

"Before the training, I only uploaded material files. Now I can create discussion forums, give quizzes, and grade directly from the LMS. This allows me to be more involved in monitoring and guiding students' learning." — Teacher Training Participant, SMAN 1 Setu

The positive impact of this training was felt not only by teachers but also by students. Data shows that student engagement in learning increased dramatically after the LMS and digital applications were integrated into the teaching and learning process.

The students' enthusiasm was also reflected in the testimony of one of the class XI IPA students:

"Learning is now easier and more fun. Just open the LMS, and all the materials and assignments are there. Plus, there are links to apps like Duolingo, which makes it even more exciting." — Student of Class XI Science, SMAN 1 Setu

Building a Collaborative Digital Learning Culture

Beyond simply enhancing technical skills, the Community Service Program (PKM) has also successfully fostered a more collaborative and adaptive digital learning culture within SMAN 1 Setu. The integration of technology into daily learning creates greater opportunities for interaction between teachers and students, while simultaneously fostering an educational ecosystem responsive to the challenges of the digital era.
